District Assembly 2008

   
     
  "PRAPTI", the District Assembly,was held at the Community Hall of Highland Park, Kolkata. District Chairman Dr.(Mrs) Bhabani Dhar installed her successor, Mrs. Sarmila Bose in the presence of a large audience made up of District Officials, Past District Chairmen, delegates from all Inner Wheel Clubs of our District 329, Rotarians and distinguished Guests.

After being formally installed, newly installed District Chairman Sarmila Bose introduced the members of District Executive Committee for the year 2008-09.

PAP Dr.(Mrs) Lalita Seth was the Chief Guest for this programme and the District Directory for the year 2008-09 was released by her.

"PRAPTI" was hosted by Inner Wheel Clubs of :

Calcutta Eastland, Calcutta Metropolitan, Calcutta Metropolitan East, Calcutta Nid West, Calcutta Old City, Calcutta South Suburban, Central Calcutta, Cossipore, Jadavpur, Joka, Salt Lake City, Serampore, South Calcutta, and South West Calcutta.

 
 

 "SANGLAP" 

First Intercity Meet  2008-09
 

 

  

"Sanglap" was held at Kalakunj on 16th September, '08 at Kolkata. The Topic was "WOMEN IN ROTARY - A THREAT TO INNER WHEEL ?" Speakers were Dr.Ruchi Gupta, Rtn.Shyamasree Sen, Ms.Sragdhara Banerjee and Past District Governor Rtn.Siddhartha Sadhan Bose and they made this programme interesting.   This Intercity Meet was hosted by 16 Inner Wheel Clubs of District 329.District Officials, a galaxy of Past District Chairmen and a large number members were Present

    

     

"SAMIPYA"

District Rally  2008-09
  "Samipya" the District Rally was held on 13th September,'08 at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata. The Rally was inaugurated by the Association Secretary Dr.(Mrs) Bhabani Dhar in  presence of noted actress Nebedita Chattopadhyay, District Officials and a large number of Inner Wheel Members.

There were about eighty stalls displaying and selling products ranging from beautiful books, sarees, salwar suits, dress materials, ornaments etc. Food stalls were also there. All the Inner Wheel Clubs of District 329 contributed towards the stalls and Raffle Draw which was a big success.

This Inner Wheel Rally had a considerable number of visitors during the day and was successful in raising funds for charity.    

 
 

SOUTH  ASIA  RALLY 

Kochi, Kerala

The Inner Wheel South Asia Rally, aptly named “HEART TO HEART,” was held at Kochi, Kerala, India on the 7th & 8th November 2008. The Rally was inaugurated by Imm Past IIW President Mrs. Kamala Ramakrishnan and Association President Mrs. Azhagu Annamalai at the Le Meredien Convention Center, Kochi. About 1260 delegates participated from many Inner Wheel districts of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It was an event of competitive games, fun, frolic and above all fellowship between the Inner Wheel clubs and districts in South Asia. A team of 30 members from IW Dist 329 led by Dist Chairman Sarmila Bose attended the Rally. Besides Dist Chairman our delegation also included the AC Member [who is also the Association Secretary], a couple of PDCs, Dist ESO and Dist ISO.The enthusiastic members of our district participated in the Recipe competition, Dance competition, showing the culture and tradition of Bengal, and Pageantry show displaying the different fashion wear of Bengal under “our heritage our culture” event and we bagged prizes in all three. It was announced that such rally would be held every three years henceforth in different countries in South Asia.
